What is Handprint Art?
Handprint art is a simple DIY activity where you use child-safe paint to stamp a child’s hand (or foot!) onto a designed template to complete a picture. It’s a sensory-rich activity that babies, toddlers, and preschoolers absolutely love. Whether it’s becoming the wings of a flamingo or the petals of a flower, those little prints make the art come to life!
How to create your handprint keepsake?
- Download & Print: Scroll down to download these cute pages. I highly recommend printing on heavy white cardstock so the paint doesn’t warp the paper.
- Prepare the Paint: Use washable child-safe paint or a child-safe ink pad.
- The Perfect Stamp: Use a foam brush to apply a thin, even layer of paint to your child’s hand. Press firmly onto the paper, then lift straight up to avoid smudging.
- Dry & Frame: Let the paint dry completely. You can then pop it into an 8.5×11 frame for a professional gift look!
