And now, time to discover the new printable buddy I’ve prepared for you this month: Cactus Calendar Divider!

After always being inspired by animals for previous months calendar dividers, I hope you’ll agree with me that this month’s calendar will be a nice change with this adorable little cactus. Perfect for this Summer month!

Sidenote: Unfortunately I’m lacking color ink in my printer right now, so I couldn’t take the usual photos to show you this monthly printable in action in my planner. But I want to make sure you get the file in time for this new month, so I’m sharing it right now with you 🙂

If you have a doubt about how this is supposed to look once assembled at the end, have a look at my previous months calendar divider articles. Instructions are also detailed down below in the article!

Let me know what you think about this month’s calendar divider guys!

Depending on where you punch your holes and how you place your divider in your planner you can get a different look: visible or not when your planner is closed. Plus, you punch holes yourself so this divider can fit in any type of planner!

On top of being cute, this calendar divider is also functional. It quickly gives you a whole month view, can help you find your page and is even more helpful to have around if you use an undated planner. Nobody likes to get dates mixed up.

Double sided divider:

The PDF file also includes a mirrored verso of the divider.

That means that you can actually have the mirrored lion on the back of your calendar. Glue both sides together before laminating it and punching holes in it!
You don’t necessarily have to use it if you don’t want your divider to be cute on both sides.

Plus, if you laminate your divider, you can use the verso to write important dates!

I’m going to laminate my calendar and use a Staedtler non permanent Lumocolor pen to write important dates, notes or to dos on the back of my calendar ( the side with the blank elephant-verso). What I like about this pen is that it doesn’t smear like a whiteboard pen would. Plus, you can simply erase by swiping it with a wet napkin. Alternatively you can also use a Staedtler permanent Lumocolor pen, but you’ll need alcohol to rub off your writings. The pens I have are in size F. I’m going to write an article on this erasable system!

I plan on using a different animal (or other cute thing) shape every month, according to the season, etc.

I first noticed this type of calendar divider idea on one of @brunella_bi instagram post and now I’m hooked!

This Cactus calendar divider + paperclips printable includes:

1 PDF file with:

  • 1 cactus calendar divider – July 2017 (recto)
  • 1 mirrored cactus divider (verso)
  • 1 matching paper clip

Supplies and instructions:

This “DIY” to create your monthly calendar divider is pretty self explanatory but basically, you’ll need:

  • thick paper like cardstock paper, or else your divider will probably get flimsy
  • printable file (subscribe to download)
  • a printer (if you’re curious I have a Canon Pixma 5550, it’s a pretty simple one, but I can’t find it anywhere on any US website, so here’s the top rated printers under 100$ on Amazon)
  • scissors (or cutting machine) – the shapes are really simple so using scissors is probably just as quick!
  • hole puncher
  • Optional : a laminator (if you want to keep them clean longer, this will also make them a little stronger)

Just reading the supplies list should make you guess what you have to do now:

  1. Download the PDF file, resize if needed
  2. Print it on cardstock paper
  3. Cut each shape with your scissors
  4. Optional: if you want to add the background to the calendar, glue recto & verso together
  5. Laminate them if you want to
  6. Enjoy all month long!

If you prefer to use your Silhouette machine, the steps are just slightly different :

  1. Download the pdf file
  2. Open the pdf in Silhouette software directly if you have the Designer Edition. If you have the basic software, fear not and turn the PDF into a jpeg first, using this website. You can resize in Silhouette if you want.
  3. Trace the design
  4. Use the Print and cut function through your Silhouette software.
  5. Optional: if you want to add the background to the calendar, glue recto & verso together
  6. Laminate them if you want to
  7. Enjoy!

How to assemble your paperclips?

  1. Cut each paperclip
  2. Laminate (don’t glue recto and verso together before laminating, laminate both sides individually)
  3. cut again around each laminated paper clip
  4. Use a hot glue gun to stick each side of the paperclip

Don’t forget to also have a look at other planner freebies I shared on the blog!
