A handprint calendar is a wonderful gift idea for grandparents and further down this page I explain how you can easily create a 12-month handprint calendar if you’d like to it one step further! I included 2 different versions, one of them includes a cute pun/message, perfect if you’re planning on offering it to a loved one: “Hands down, you’re loved all year round”.

If you’ve never heard of it before, handprint crafts are just a creative way to use a child’s hand and/or footprints in an artwork.
I think this cute yearly calendar would look great in your office (to have a little something of your child always near you) or in your home! It would also be a really cute free DIY gift for grandparents.
This free printable includes a yearly 2026 calendar on the bottom half of the page and a space to add your child’s handprint in the upper half.
How to use this 2026 Handprint Calendar?
You can download this free 2026 handprint calendar template further down this page. Print on cardstock or heavy-duty paper and use washable paint or a washable stamp pad to stamp your child’s handprint/footprint in the artwork. In this specific one, your child’s handprint or footprint will replace the zero of “2026”.

What are handprint craft printables and what do you need?
Handprint crafts are just a creative way to use a child’s hand and/or footprints in an artwork.
You can easily make it at home by applying paint on your child’s hand (or foot) and pressing it on a piece of paper. It’s recommended to use a roller to apply paint on your child’s hand.
If you use several colors on your artwork, make sure to let each handprint dry before adding the next one.
Handprint craft printables are a great craft or activity for babies, toddlers, kids, and preschoolers. You’ll have fun creating memories with them and they’ll be very proud to gift it to loved ones. On top of being a fun activity for kids, these handprint art printables are also a great way to keep a visible memory of how small your child was on a specific occasion.
Material needed for handprint art:
- finger paint: This pack of 6 Crayola washable finger paints is a good option but I also like this set that includes all the rainbow colors and a much-needed roller. This other kit is nice if you want more colors and a cute toddler smock.
- paint roller – recommended
- alternatively: if you don’t want to use paint, you can use this type of ink pad for handprint
- cardstock paper
