Free Doodle a Day Bullet Journal Template: Build Your Daily Doodle Habit!
If you’ve ever wanted to start a doodle a day habit but didn’t know where to begin, this one’s for you! I created this free doodle a day bullet journal template to help you stay consistent, track your progress, and actually enjoy the process. Whether you’re joining a doodle challenge like Inktober or simply want to pick up a pen every single day, this printable has got you covered.
What Is a Doodle a Day Tracker?
A doodle a day tracker is basically a monthly spread where you have one small square for each day of the month. The idea is simple: every day, you draw something – anything! – inside that little square. It could be a tiny flower, a coffee cup, a face, a word… no rules, no pressure.
It’s one of my favorite ways to build a daily doodle habit without it feeling overwhelming. Small squares = small commitment = big creative results over time. ✨
By the end of the month, you’ll have a whole page full of tiny little drawings and trust me, looking back at 30 days of doodles is the most satisfying feeling ever!
What’s Included in This Free Printable
This free doodle a day download includes 2 pages (both pages come in 30 or 31 days, so the PDF includes 4 pages in total):
Page 1: Doodle a Day Tracker A clean monthly grid with 30 or 31 squares (works for any month!), with space to fill in each day. Just one little daily doodle per square, that’s all it takes!
Page 2: Doodle List A fill-in-the-blank prompt list you can customize however you like! Use it to:
- Plan your own personal doodle a day challenge
- Follow along with a themed challenge (hello, Inktober!)
- Jot down daily doodle ideas so you’re never staring at a blank page
Together, these two pages make the perfect doodle a day setup, all in a minimal, modern hand-drawn style that looks gorgeous in any bullet journal.
Here is a low-resolution preview of one of the 4 pages included in the PDF:

How to Use the Doodle a Day Template
Using this template is super easy! Here’s how I like to set it up:
- Download and print the pages (created in US Letter size, can easily be resized)
- Fill in the days on your doodle a day tracker
- Optional: Fill out your doodle list if you’re following or creating a challenge or leave this doodle list page aside and draw whatever inspires you each day
- Do one daily doodle per square, every day: it can be tiny, it can be messy, it just has to be something
- At the end of the month, admire your beautiful page of tiny art! 🎨
That’s it! No complicated setup, no artistic skills required. Just a simple doodle a day practice that builds into something really beautiful over time.
Tips for Keeping Up Your Doodle a Day Habit
Starting a new habit is the hardest part, so here are a few things that help me stay consistent with my daily doodle practice:
Keep your supplies out. If your journal and pens are visible on your desk, you’re way more likely to actually use them. Out of sight = out of mind!
Set a specific time. Morning coffee doodle? Doodle before bed? Pick a time and stick to it. Even 5 minutes a day counts, that’s the whole point of a doodle a day routine!
Don’t aim for perfect. The squares are tiny on purpose! Give yourself permission to draw something small and imperfect every single day. Progress over perfection, always.
Use the doodle list. On days when you’re stuck, having a list of ideas already written down is a game changer. You’ll never have to stare at a blank square wondering what your daily doodle should be.
